Hal Mabray and John McCombs bought the Peddler stores in November 1990. Both had worked at the Peddler on Southern, just across the tracks from the current Peddler on Highland. Both Hal and John are life-long cyclists. 
Hal Mabray (co-owner) manages the Peddler on Highland. He is a graduate of the New England Cycling Academy, trained on the "Fit Kit" and Campagnolo Master Tool Kit. You've probably seen Hal out on the roads, leading a pack of road cyclists on the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning rides. Or maybe you've seen him flying through midtown on the Tuesday and Thursday evening mountain bike rides. John McCombs (co-owner) spends most of his time in the Cordova store when he's not participating in the B.R.A.T. (Bicycle Ride Across TN) or other group tours. John is an expert on fitting people to the right bike. With his certification as a "Size Cycle Specialist," John can quickly determine bicycle frame size, seat height, and stem length. John's 14 years in the bicycle industry have paid off - he can put you on the perfect new bike or give you a more aerodynamic position on your current bike.
